About

Hello. Welcome. Lovely to have you here in my little part of the internet.

My name is Gemma and you’ve reached my mini celebration of just some of the many parts of my life.

Amongst other things I am a mother, a wife, a writer and a millennial and I love to celebrate all of those things. It certainly makes for an eclectic mix.

Find out more about what those labels mean to me.

Born just inside the 90’s and being a midlands girl in quite a historical industrial town, I’m old school with a little technology thrown in. I’ve been raised with a mix of modern and traditional so obviously I crack out all the old school sayings – ay up duck – and married a boy from the next village over…

We created a tiny (and he really was tiny) human in 2012 and have spent the last five years establishing a household balance between an Aries, a Gemini, a Taurus, two extroverts and an introvert, a Ravenclaw, a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor. We mostly do that by getting neurotic pets (the bird is definitely a Slytherin) and dressing up to go on train rides.

Another important part of my life, apart from my book collection which originally filled more boxes than all my husbands stuff combined, is my writing life.

I have written, fact and fiction, since I was six years old. I came out of the writing ‘closet’ when I was around 20 and admitted to my family that writing was the only career I definitely could not live without. They’re still dealing with that.

So now I spend my days with a bunch of amazing writers and journalists in these girls at StaffsLive as well as blogging and dealing with the process of writing novels to keep the several sides of my personality under strict control.

So, you might not get any expert messy buns or make up tips here but hopefully you can find a lot of adventure, figuring things out and taking on the world.

If I go AWOL I’ll definitely be over on Instagram¬†probably ranting about sports and husbands, traffic and Netflix. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
